Who should attend Development Essentials courses?
Staff from organizations with basic infrastructure, familiar with grants and contracts, can be successful with Development Essential courses.
What are the prerequisites for the courses?
No prerequisites are required. Please complete the online questionnaire when you register so Development Essentials can best understand your needs, tailoring the course appropriately. If possible, bring a lap top that can access the internet for classroom research and assignments. For the course Winning USAID Awards, bring a solicitation your organization is interested in developing a proposal.
What is included in the course fee?
The course fee includes the course manual, graduation certificate, class photo, lunch and tea breaks. The fee does not include lodging or transportation to the venue.
For the course, Winning USAID Awards, do you guarantee our organization will win an award?
In our course we’ll provide you the tools and skills needed, if applied consistently, will lead you to success and winning a USAID award. We’ll help you make new business development part your daily work.

How can we pay for courses?
Payment is made during course registration by credit card, Pay Pal account, domestic wire transfer (or ACH) and international wire transfer.
Can we use funds from USG contracts and grants to attend courses?
Yes. Training costs are covered in OMB Circular 122, Appendix B to Part 230-Selected of Cost 49 for non-profits. For contracts, its covered under, Training Costs and Contract Cost Principles and Procedures FAR 31.205-44 (Training and Education Costs).
